It's one of our favorite times of the year...the Food and Wine Festival is back at DCA! We absolutely love this delectable festival and all of the yummy treats it brings every year. And good news: some of our favorite items from previous items have returned for 2022! Let's start with our top "do and don't try" food recommendations, listed below:
DO TRY this amazing Snickers Caramel-Peanut Milk Chocolate Mickey Macaron from the Nuts About Cheese booth! If you like Snickers (or chocolate and peanut butter), then this one will be a festival favorite!
DO NOT try the peanut butter & jelly Mac from this same booth (or go at your own risk!) This was a funky food that we were not prepared for, and it was too greasy for our taste.
DO TRY the Chile Rilleno Empanada from the Peppers Caliente booth! This is a delightful (and large) savory treat that is definitely worth a Sip and Savor tab.
DO NOT try the frozen guacamole from the Avocado Time booth. Trust us, it's exactly how it sounds, and guacamole should not be served frozen.
DO TRY the Honey-Orange-glazed Verlasso Salmon Salad from the Golden Dreams booth! This is a hearty helping of salmon that looks and tastes amazing.
DO NOT try the Orange Honey cold brew from this same booth. There are much better coffee drinks around the park.
A couple of our favorites that have returned are the:
1) Carbonara Mac N' Cheese from Garlic Kissed
2) BBQ Pork Belly from LA Style
3) French Onion Beef Tenderloin slider from Cluck-A-Doodle-Moo
And our new favorite is the Grilled Top Sirloin from Garlic Kissed!
Be sure to grab your Sip and Savor pass ($52 for Magic Key holders, $57 for non-Magic Key) to try all of the food items listed above at a discount! More food and drinks recommendations to come from Food & Wine!
